Join co-authors Bruce Pascoe and Lyn Harwood for an exclusive dining experience that celebrates ‘the bounty of Mother Earth’.
‘The vigour of spring is all around us: the unfurling tree fern frond, the energy that pushes the orchids delicate stem through hard crust, the arrival of cuckoos. The urgency of growth and desire.’ – Bruce Pascoe and Lyn Harwood, Black Duck: A Year at Yumburra.
At this very special event, Bruce Pascoe (Dark Emu) and his partner and co-author Lyn Harwood reflect on life, Country and the changing of the seasons with host Daniel James.
Black Duck Foods is Pascoe and Harwood’s Aboriginal social enterprise, focused on growing and selling Aboriginal foods and utilising traditional agricultural practices to harvest seasonally and sustainably and return economic benefits back to Community.
Their new book, Black Duck: A Year at Yumburra is a deeply personal memoir that guides a course through the aftermath of Dark Emu’s publication, and the noise and flames that figuratively and literally engulfed the couple. It also provides an urgent blueprint for food and land management in Australia.
Hosted at The Moat, tickets include a two-course seasonal lunch menu featuring Aboriginal ingredients, prepared in consultation with Pascoe and Harwood.
